Marple ROM and Am Ch Iceni Sweet Mischief (won the award twice) as well as a Stud Dog Trophy Winner, Can/Am Ch
Bullyrook’s Batteries Included ROM. His grandson Am Ch Windfall’s Starman of Bedrock ROM (by Augustus) won the
stud dog trophy 3 times (1995, 1996 & 1998).

Julius had an exceptionally sweet natured temperament so when it came time for him to retire at stud we felt he deserved so

much more than to spend the rest of his life in our kennel or even as one of several in our household.  When the opportunity

arose to put him in that special home we took it.  A dear old friend of ours had just lost a bitch we had placed with him (Ch

Rapparee Rapunzel, a daughter of the ‘great’ Marquis - Julius’ paternal great grandfather).  She was fifteen when she died and Frank was so heartbroken and lost without his constant companion.  Julius bonded quickly with Frank who worshiped him and he was so proud to share his life with such a “grand” dog.  Julius spent 7 years with Frank and wanted for nothing as Frank would have lay down his life for him.  So great was this bond that Frank told me that the day Julius died he came to him in the night and kissed his cheek as if to say, everything is alright.  Frank also commented soon after Julius died, “I expect he’ll be getting fitted with his wings now” and somehow, I think he was right as if there ever was a dog that deserved to have wings, it was Julius.  He gave joy to so many; to the children he met in the park where he walked every day with Frank, to the neighbors who knew and loved him and shed tears with Frank upon hearing of Julius’ death and finally to us as we were proud to have owned him and been able to help him give so much to this beloved breed of ours, and most of all to Frank who loved him for the wonderful companion he was.  Frank crossed the Rainbow bridge in November 2004 to be reunited with his beloved “Julius and Carol” .

To the wind, thou fair spirit shall go,

             to wait, in far slumber.

In some quiet whisper dost thou speak to me,

and my heart leaps at the sweet sound,

of our meeting again, in fair glory
